Janelle Heron is a Canadian Actress whose passion for acting and performing started from the tender age of six. Heron's parents recognized this love for performing and placed her into art camp, dance and theatre classes. Heron studied Film & Broadcasting in College and interned at CTV News for four months - where she shadowed and gained experience with reporters, anchors, weathermen, news editors and directors. Heron then took her reputable knowledge to the film industry and started working behind the scenes on non-union productions as a Production & Camera Assistant (2013), to the now esteemed Director of Photography, Fraser Brown (Titans/ Netflix). These opportunities helped her to level up and network to build relationships with many in the industry, leading to work like Billy Talent's "Show Me The Way" and Hedley's "Anything" - music videos you can find online with over millions of views. With Heron's well known work ethic and enthusiasm, she graciously tells her fellow crew members her true passion for acting which opened the avenue for her to act in a few short films, a commercial and a music video. From there, Heron continued to follow her passion for acting and building a resume of; having attended various acting classes/styles in Toronto/LA, worked with creditable coaches, and completing a dance program at George Brown College, which focused on acting, singing and dance. Additionally, Heron taught dance classes at a recreational studio in Markham and during her last lap she began teaching acting classes. Her students all dreamed of attending Wexford Collegiate - School of Arts, so she mentored their auditions and aspirations to be audition ready. Needless to say each student got accepted into the desired school. Heron continues to enjoy working behind the scenes, allowing her to stay in the action between auditioning and studying. More recently she has become a Consent Forward Artist, certified by the IDC Professionals program in NY. Adding to her many skills, to break another barrier and gain an additional 360 view of working on set. Heron has since appeared in The Handmaid's Tale (Crave/Hulu), Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madame C.J. Walker (Netflix), and most recently, SkyMed (CBC/CBC Gem/Paramount+).
